Life & Legacy
Thomas Young (February 19, 1731 – June 24, 1777) was a medical doctor, philosopher and a key organizer of the Boston Committee of Correspondence, Boston Tea Party, founding of Vermont, and Pennsylvania's independence from British rule. Historians consider Young one of the leading radicals of the American Revolution, though his importance in pushing the revolution forward has been largely forgotten.. Critics labeled Young a "firebrand" and "incendiary of the lower order." Young was a mentor and teacher to Ethan Allen and friend of Samuel Adams.
